Now that KLIC has the money, and the responsibility, to run the Leisure Centre from
1st April, we need help in the practical business of running it - and people to subscribe
to activities and memberships at the Centre to keep it busy!
Here are some ways in which you can help. Please
do as many of these as you can.
- Subscribe to a membership deal at the Leisure Centre. This will contribute to the
financial status of the Centre, and also give visibility of how many people
really want the Centre to continue running. See the
memberships page for full details and a list of prices.
- Do you have any skills that can help us run the Leisure Centre?
In the first instance, we urgently need carpentry help to restore the bar!
If you have other skills which might be useful, please get in touch. If you are unsure,
please get in touch as all offers of help will be welcomed.
- Do you have any skills that can help us in our campaign?
Perhaps you have legal or admin skills that you think may be useful.
If you are unsure, please get in touch as all offers of help will
be welcomed. Get in touch...
- Contribute to NWDC's
Online Questionnaire
after reading their
Youth Strategy document
and indicate in the section any other comments
the reasons why you want the Leisure Centre to remain open, and how much
it matters to you - before 12th March 2007.
- Fill in a Leisure Centre Survey form either on a paper copy, which will
be handed out by volunteers, or using our Online Questionnaire to tell us
what you use the Centre for and what you would like to see available
there in future. This will help us justify our claims and plan future provision.
(Please only use one of these; the paper and online results will be collected together).
Here are some ways people have already helped the campaign:
- Local businesses in Cricklade and surrounding areas have helped with the costs
of printing leaflets, supplying banners and acting as collection points for signatures.
- A large team of local people have stepped forward to offer their skills and time,
for collecting signatures, making phone calls, writing letters and so on.
- Many people attended NWDC meetings on Tuesday 5th December at Chippenham and others,
and made their presence felt.
The KLIC team would like to thank all of those who have helped our campaign already, and those who are
continuing to do so. Your contributions are important and greatly valued.
